This limestone, alabaster, located halfway between plaster and marble, has two fundamental qualities: its docility to the passage of light and that aptitude for carving and polishing that sculptors and carvers have been able to take advantage of. The craftsmanship that this material requires caused its virtual disappearance, dragged by the avalanche of new products. In Spain, at the end of the 80s, ECLIPSI, a company from Valls (Tarragona), promoted the design of spectacular pieces by masters of the height of Ramon Bigas i Balcells, Juma, or Joan Casanyes. This piece still retains the company's label. In original and good vintage condition, with a minor chip on the base.
