Bold Violet and Black Striped Ceramic Coffee Set by Secla, Portugal, 1970s

An eye-catching and complete Secla coffee set from Portugal, dating to the 1970s, showcasing the brand's distinct flair for bold ceramic design. Comprising eight cups with matching saucers, a tall coffee pot, a milk jug, and a lidded sugar pot, this ensemble is a striking representation of Portuguese mid-century tableware at its most expressive.
Each piece features Secla’s signature violet-toned glaze with hand-applied vertical black striping — an interplay of rhythm and texture that feels both graphic and artisanal. The high-contrast patterning combined with the set’s slightly conical silhouettes gives it a dramatic visual identity while remaining highly functional. From the wide-lipped sugar pot to the elegant spout of the coffee server, every detail feels deliberate and sculptural.
All pieces are marked “SECLA” underneath and are in very good vintage condition, with no chips or cracks. The glaze retains a rich, vibrant tone, with gentle age-related craquelure and minor production nuances that add character without compromising function or visual appeal.
This is more than a coffee service — it’s a conversation piece. Ideal for design-conscious hosts, collectors of Iberian ceramics, or anyone seeking to bring a touch of 1970s boldness to their daily ritual. Beautiful on display, joyful in use — a true gem from Secla’s creative legacy.
