Fase Madrid model TORPEDO by Tomás Díaz Magro, 1969
This table lamp, designed by Tomás Díaz Magro for Fase in 1969, is a remarkable example of Spanish mid-century modern lighting. Known for its inclined stem, this model was patented by Industrias Fase in 1969 and has since become one of the brand's most iconic and sought-after designs.
The lamp features a swiveling shade, allowing you to easily adjust the direction of the light. Its height is also adjustable, reaching up to 45 cm, making it both functional and aesthetically pleasing. A switch button is conveniently located at the base for ease of use. In the early 1970s, decorative chrome rings were added to the base and lampshade, further enhancing its sleek, modern look.
Although the design takes inspiration from the works of Gino Sarfatti and Oscar Torlasco, it stands out for its originality and elegance, becoming one of the most coveted Fase models. The lamp was produced in various colors, including black, grey, white, Corinthian red, yellow, and orange.
This particular lamp is in original and good vintage condition, with new wiring to ensure it works perfectly. A beautiful blend of form and function, this lamp is a timeless piece for any interior.
