Hans-Agne Jakobsson Copper Pendant Lamp Model T325/450 Markaryd Sweden 1960s
This elegant pendant lamp, model T325/450, was designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by his own company in Markaryd, Sweden, during the 1960s. A refined evolution of Jakobsson’s celebrated “Beehive” concept, it combines brushed copper and orange lacquered aluminum to create a warm, atmospheric glow that exemplifies Scandinavian lighting design at its most poetic.
The lamp’s layered structure of concentric copper bands conceals the light source while diffusing light softly through the orange interior, producing an amber tone that accentuates the copper’s natural sheen. This precise play of light and material reflects Jakobsson’s mastery of visual comfort and mood — transforming direct light into a luminous sculptural form.
This particular example retains its original internal plastic diffuser, which shows some age-related cracks yet remains intact and fully functional. The piece has been professionally rewired with a black cotton cord for safety and everyday use.
A beautifully preserved and authentic example of mid-century Swedish craftsmanship, offering both sculptural presence and warm, inviting illumination.
