Mid-Century German Space Age Glass Pendant Lamp from Peill & Putzler, 1970's

This ceiling lamp was produced by Peill and Putzler, in Germany during the 1970's. It features a glass globe with an UFO shape and tulip-shaped upper part, made of aluminum. The glass surface is partially coated with a silver mirroring layer. It is fitted with a chromed aluminum cap and a black cable. This makes an amazing glare-free hanging lamp.
The silver layer of this type of lamps is very prone to detachment and discolorations. This piece, however, is well conserved and shows only minor defects on this layer. In original and good vintage condition.
