This set of table and stools was produced in Portugal, during the 1960's. It is made of bunho that is "“a perennial herb from the European peppermint family (...) common in humid and swampy areas, such as streams, ponds, swamps and trees in northern and central Portugal. " Since immemorial times, they have been used by artisans in our country to create furniture and other utilitarian objects. It is picked up and worked by hand. In addition, it is a sustainable material: natural, durable and available in large quantities. If in the past there were several artisans working on the bunho, today only one remains. And these banks, although larger than pearls, are no less rare, nor less perfect.”
