Table Lamp model OSAKA by Luis Pérez de la Oliva for FASE - Spain 1968

SKU: 843_37

This striking Fase desk lamp, showcased at SIMO in 1970, is a rare example of early transitional design by the Spanish manufacturer, preceding its post-1968 phase following Luis Pérez de la Oliva’s departure. With its bold, sculptural silhouette and vibrant Corinthian red lacquered finish, the lamp commands attention both as a functional object and a design statement. Measuring 34 cm in diameter, the oversized shade ranks among Fase's largest, and its distinct chrome edge contrasts beautifully with the glossy enamel surface.

Unlike the more widely known Fase models featuring glass diffusers, this design features a bare twin-bulb setup tucked under the deep, tiltable saucer-like shade. Its mobility along the chrome arm allows for elegant and practical light direction, creating an expressive interplay of form and function. The tensioned wire-frame structure—streamlined and geometric—anchors the shade and base with sculptural precision.

Produced in limited colors—black, grey, gold, and the deep red shown here—this model is one of Fase’s rarest. As highlighted in Fase: The Book – Mystery Solved (2018), this particular version has become increasingly difficult to find. The photos provided demonstrate its remarkable form and versatility, illuminating its place as a standout piece in any mid-century modern collection.
